DOG IN BAG

WINTER LIGHT

Absolutely excellent at times.
F

SUB(WAY/HUMAN)

It was a strange week to be on the subway. This episode of insanity tonight was tame compared to what happened on the F train to Queens last week when we went over to Flushing for an evening at the Inspa World Korean baths (which is just amazing). A nauseating hoard of teenage kids got on the train, filling it up and making as much noise and disruption as inhumanly possible. One lousy miscreant was pushed into the lap of an elderly man who then tried to get him off and was subsequently physically threatened. The vast majority of passengers did the typically Zombified NYC Denial Thing, and I had to marvel at the guy next to me reading American Psycho with headset on and completely removed from the entire outrage. But one woman had enough. She attempted to politely ask them to keep it down for the sake of others and was promptly shouted down with insults. “You don’t have any respect for anyone” she bleated repeatedly and actually made things worse, though her statement was proven beyond a doubt when the animals were exiting the train and threw a half-eaten ice cream cone at her, hitting some guy in front of me instead. We had a conversation right after with a young Korean lad sitting next to us and when asked if anything like this happens in South Korea, and he was adamantly negative on his reply. Most of time this kind of nonsense is entertaining, but the shit that went down that day was beyond the pale.
